OptimaHTML can optimize whole folders for you. Optimizing folders is just as easy as optimizing single files. The only difference is that you won't see the document window, so if you want to view, add or change meta tags, you must use single file optimizing.
You can select the folder you want to optimize by dropping it into the application's window, by selecting it with the ΓÇ£Select folderΓÇ¥-button, by dropping it on application's icon in Finder, or by selecting "Select folder" from File menu (the shortcut for this command is "Command-option-O").
When you've selected a folder, View and Optimize buttons will be enabled.
Viewing a folder
OptimaHTML has a very handy built-in folder browser. With the folder browser you can quickly view the contents of the selected folder, get information of files in selected folder, or select new folder or file.
The folder browser has 4 buttons: Back, Forward, Select and Info.
Back - Move back to parent directory (folder)
Forward - Move into activated directory (folder)
Select - Select currently activated item (file or folder) for optimization
Info - Get basic information about activated file or folder
Optimizing a folder
Folder optimization is launched by clicking on the Optimize button. All files inside the folder you've selected will be optimized using your optimization settings which are specified in the preferences window (default settings should be OK for most users). Depending on the amount of files and the size of OptimaHTMLΓÇÖs RAM partition and the processor's speed and the size of the folderΓÇÖs HTML files, optimization process can take from couple of seconds to several minutes. A folder with 10 average-sized documents is optimized in approximately 10 seconds with an average class PowerMacintosh.
After the optimization process you will see a short report on optimization results (how many characters were removed, the file size percentage saved and the average saving percentage).
Optimized files will be saved in the ΓÇ£OptimaHTML Optimized filesΓÇ¥ folder inside the selected folder.
